Mgmt/Monit Coord Mtg - Sept 2014

The September monthly management/monitoring coordination meeting will be held September 24th, 2014 from 9:30am to 11:30am at the USGS, in the downstairs conference room.

Highlights:

Dr. James Danoff-Burg will be giving a presentation titled "Insect monitoring in the San Pasqual Valley: Drones, Citizen Science, & Malaise". Dr. Burg is the founder and team lead of Conservation Possibilities Consulting and adjunct professor with Miami University of Ohio. He was recently the Director of the Conservation Education Division for the Institute for Conservation Research (ICR). I've attached an ICR newsletter from 2013 that contains a little bio on Dr. Burg on page 4.

There will also be an update from Jess Norton, San Dieguito River Valley Conservancy, on the use of the USGS ant protocol for their Citizen Science project.

Normal monthly meetings are held on the fourth Wednesday of every month, except for the combined November/December meeting.
