Job Opportunity - Natural Resources Specialist (Navy)

You will serve as a NATURAL RESOURCES SPECIALIST in the Southwest Division of Naval Facilities Engineering Command in San Diego, CA

Responsibilities

  • You will review proposed actions for potential impacts to sensitive plant and wildlife species, sensitive habitats and ecosystems, and other sensitive natural resources.

  • You will evaluate natural resources programs (e.g., range, soil, fire, plant, wetlands, vegetation management) to resolve critical problems.

  • You will implement natural resources management principles in various ecosystem types (e.g., botanical, wetlands, forest) to ensure long-term maintenance of environmental quality, enhancement of native species, and biotic diversity.

  • You will implement natural resources management principles in various ecosystems (e.g. riparian, grassland, coastal sage scrub, intertidal) to ensure long-term maintenance of environmental quality, enhancement of native species, and biotic diversity.

  • You will brief staff and managers on habitat restoration projects, species inventories, and monitoring contracts.
