Job Opportunity - Fishery Biologist (Marine Corps Base Camp Pendleton)

Marine Corps Base Camp Pendleton is advertising for a Fish Biologist position to work in marine and fresh water environments.

One individual may be selected from this advertisement to serve as the Fish Biologist. The selected individual will function as part of a five person team working directly for the Coastal and Riparian Section Head. Our primary responsibility is to implement Camp Pendleton's Integrated Natural Resource's Management Plan, and to serve as subject matter experts in fish and wildlife management. This position will additionally serve as subject matter expert for compliance with the Marine Mammal Protection Act and Magnuson-Stephens Fishery Conservation and Management Act. Much of our species and habitat monitoring and inventory is contracted out, therefore much of the workload is administrative in nature, however, some fieldwork in uneven terrain under adverse climatic conditions may be necessary. Camp Pendleton biologists manage multi-million dollar programs annually and develop and employ innovative scientific techniques in collaboration with some of the top scientists in the region.
