Job Opportunity - Ecologist (Marine Corps Air Ground Combat CTR, Twentynine Palms)

Duties

  • You will develop and supervise implementation of policies and requirements, goals, and objectives.

  • You will determine the needs and establish Natural Resources Section goals, objectives, and priorities; schedule the commitment of resources to complete this work.

  • You will be responsible for the assessment, maintenance, and long-term productivity of the base's natural resources.

  • You will interact with ongoing environmental protection programs and coordinate the Command's participation in natural resources protection to reduce losses to these resources from on and off base sources.

  • You will supervise, assign projects and work, review results for completeness, and provide comments and guidance on results.

  • You will analyze existing policies and practices in light of current ecological information and recommend adjustments in management policy and practice to enhance the maintenance and productivity of the living resources consistent with mission.

  • You will serve as a subject matter expert on all relevant natural resources policies, laws, and environmental regulatory requirements.

  • You will represent the Command on natural resources issues during negotiations with regulatory agencies to establish achievable and timely compliance schedules for all required actions.
