The annual Santa Ana River Science and Conservation Symposium will be held February 1-2, 2023, on the ESRI Campus in Redlands, CA. The two-day symposium provides a forum for researchers and conservation practitioners to gather, provide updates in their work, and facilitate collaboration on the important conservation issues of the Santa Ana River Watershed and throughout Southern California.

The format of the symposium is a series of short presentations from various participants with a goal of promoting a better understanding of ongoing and planned science and conservation activities relevant to the Santa Ana Watershed. Presentations cover a wide array of research and conservation issues from species biology, hydrology, sediment transport, ecological community health, restoration projects, endangered species recovery, forest management, fire risk management, nonnative species management, and watershed resiliency from the headwaters to the Pacific Ocean.

We welcome presentations of studies and projects from the watershed and throughout Southern California that could inform work in the Santa Ana River Watershed.

Please consider submitting an abstract for a single presentation or a group session as well as working group topics and field trip ideas. Topics can include everything from climate resiliency to wildlife and restoration to community engagement.
